Past: Burrito-Ville to Hold Special #GiveBacktoCape Event for Local EMT Adam Hilse

Burrito-Ville

CAPE GIRARDEAU— Local establishment, Burrito-Ville, will hold a special #GiveBacktoCape fundraising event from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 28 in support of local EMT, Adam Hilse, who was seriously injured in a wreck on I-55 involving his ambulance and two other vehicles.

The #GiveBacktoCape event for Adam will donate 10 percent of all sales from 5 to 9 p.m., including food, to-go orders, T-shirts, gift certificates, and beverages.

Speaking to family friend Ashley Poole, she said that Adam’s entire adult life has been dedicated to public service. “He currently works at Mississippi County EMS (part time), South Scott County EMS (part time), North Scott County EMS (full time), and Scott City Police Department (part time). Previously he worked for Miner Police Department, Cape County Private Ambulance, S&T University DPS, Bourbon Police Department, Steelville EMS, Steelville Police Department, and Bourbon Fire Department,” said Poole. “A few years ago, he decided to get into EMS and leave law enforcement to pursue a ‘safer’ career.”

Poole noted that a Burrito-Ville fundraiser would mean a great deal to Adam because he and his youngest daughter both suffer from Celiac Disease, and love Burrito-Ville because of their gluten-free options; especially the dirty fries. “They customize them (dirty fries) with toppings and have never had any issues. They eat at Burrito-Ville at least once a week,” she said.

Money raised from the #GiveBacktoCape event will go toward helping Adam’s family with recovery funds. “Adam is expected to be out of work for approximately one year to undergo physical therapy, and it is uncertain if any lost wages will be covered,” said Poole.
