Past: Southeast Missouri State University Eclipse Activities

Houck Stadium

Southeast Missouri State University will have Total Eclipse activities at Houck Field. The doors open at 11:15 a.m. with lunch and solar eclipse safety glasses distributed in Houck Field House. There will be telescope viewing in the end zone of Houck Stadium. The eclipse will begin at 11:52 a.m. There will be atomspheric balloon inflation supported by Kadi Heins, Speace Center Houston - Manned Space Flight Education Foundation. The balloon launch countdown/release will begin at noon. There will be solar eclipse related entertainment and activities starting at 12:10 p.m. and a welcome from Carlos Vargas, university president at 12:50 p.m. The solar eclipse totality will be 1:23 to 1:21 p.m. These activities are designed by more than 4,000 kindergarten through 12th grade school students and university students. The event is free and open to the public.
