Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting a presentation of “Getting to Know an Intuitive” Aug. 1 as part of the Museum’s book study discussion of “The Spirit Almanac: A Modern Guide to Ancient Self-Care” by Emma Loewe and Lindsay Kellner.

The talk will be presented by Malinda McLain at 7 p.m. in the Museum.

In her talk, McLain will tell about her personal journey in becoming an intuitive, someone who senses things about people and their surroundings and their experiences. She will also share how she is blessed to help others live their authentic life and grow on their spiritual journey. She will also be answering any questions about methods or tools used to enhance one’s journey.

“This book study is a journey into the understanding of yourself and your spirit,” said Ellen Hahs, curator of education. “Progression of the book is seasonal and participants can begin the book group at any time of the year.”

Monthly meetings are free and are held the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Museum. Participants are encouraged to learn, share and discuss their personal understanding, discoveries, interpretations and decisions related to a variety of seasonal content. Additional guest speakers will be presenting overviews of the ancient uses of crystals, herbs, essential oils, astrology, tarot, meditation and breathing.

Organizers hope that by studying “The Spirit Almanac,” participants will make it a priority to reserve moments of personal time to take care of themselves with their own transformational practice, Hahs added. It is hoped the book will offer readers new insights on becoming aware of personal realizations, feelings of calmness and gratitude.

Preregistration and purchasing “The Spirit Almanac” is required.
