Bollinger County Museum of Natural History

National Fossil Day is a nationwide celebration organized by the National Park Service aiming at the promotion of the scientific and educational values of fossils, and to build up public awareness and stewardship of fossils.

The Bollinger County Museum of Natural History in Marble Hill, Missouri will celebrate National Fossil Day on Saturday, October 17 from 12:00 (noon) to 4:30 p.m. Learn about the Missouri dinosaur discoveries, see bones from our state dinosaur plus a full size replica of the Missouri dinosaur, Hypsibema missouriense, and watch as our scientists work on a bone bed from the dinosaur dig site.

You can take part in NFD through activities at the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History.

Bring in your fossils and "finds" for our scientist to identify then explore the fossil record of Missouri through our exhibits when you participate in National Fossil Day. In honor of National Fossil Day we will have special

fossil collections for purchase in our gift shop.

Children’s activities include a fossil dig, make your own fossil, children's dinosaur dig, and fossil scavenger hunt. Pick up a free Missouri fossil as a prize for participating in our fossil scavenger hunt.
