Past: Hamblin Lecture

On Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Eric Gary Anderson will present the Robert W. Hamblin Lecture, “Undead Souths: The Gothic and Beyond in Southern Literature and Culture.”

The lecture will take place in Ballroom A in the University Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

Dr. Anderson, associate professor at George Mason University, is the co-editor of the recent book "Undead Souths," a collection of essays that examines versions of “undead-ness” in texts from Edgar Allen Poe’s short stories to Cormac McCarthy’s novels to HBO’s hit series True Blood.

Dr. Anderson is the author of American Indian Literature and the Southwest: Contexts and Dispositions and a former president of the Society for the Study of Southern Literature.

The Hamblin lecture is a free, annual event that is open to the public.
