Past: Union County Museum - Special exhibit on Producers Dairy

The Union County Museum

The Union County Museum will reopen on Saturday, March 7, 1 p.m. A special exhibit on Producers Dairy will be featured. The Dairy opened in Anna during the 1930s and offered milk, cream, buttermilk, chocolate milk, butter and cottage cheese. The display will show milk bottles, a butter crock, milk crate, photos and other items. The Dairy was an important Anna business.

A new exhibit will be on debut and titled “What is the Story.” Six items will be featured and each item has a unique story. One of the pieces includes a ceramic syrup container from the Bump Confectionary Co. of Anna. Come to the museum and learn the story of this item and the others.

The Shop for the Museum will also be open. The shop will feature spring items including artificial flowers and garden items. Newly restocked shelves of collectibles, antiques, decorative items, and other merchandise will be available. Proceeds from the shop go to the museum and to the Union County Historical and Genealogy Society.
