Past: Southeast's Crisp Museum Presents Annual Juried Student Exhibition

The Department of Art and Design students show off their creative talents in “The Annual Juried Student Exhibition” at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

Admission is free. Face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

This year’s awards will be announced online at semo.edu/museum beginning April 9.

Merit awards and honorable mentions will be presented in each of the following categories: Color Composition/Design Foundations, 3D, Drawing, Painting, Fibers, Graphic Design/Illustration, Digital Art, Printmaking, Ceramics and Sculpture. Best in Show and the Distinguished Merit Award will also be presented. Additionally, many of their works on view will be available for purchase.

This year’s juror is Zack Tucker, assistant professor of communication design in the Department of Art at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

In conjunction with the student exhibition, the professional juror exhibits a solo show of their own work in Southeast’s River Campus Art Gallery. His exhibit, “Dialogues on Democracy,” is a participatory exhibition that invites viewers to co-create a better future for all people.

Tucker is a Southeast graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design and illustration and Master of Arts in educational/instructional technology. He is currently. His work explores the intersection of design strategy, politics and autonomous technologies.
