Past: Ste. Genevieve History Conference

The Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve hosts an annual history conference at which presentations are made on the history of Ste. Genevieve and the surrounding area. This year's presenters include:

Mark W. Kelly, Esq. — Retired USDA NRCS Archaeologist and Western Author, "Andrew Henry vs. Marie Villars, the First Legislature-Derived Divorce in the Territory of Louisiana."

Dr. Brad D. Lookingbill - Distinguished Professor of History, Columbia College,

"Missouri, the Heart of the Nation."

Charlotte Young Slinkard - Researcher and Board Member Cape Girardeau Heritage Museum, "Meet the Girardeaus: An Eighteenth Century French Colonial Family in the Mississippi River Valley."

Dr. Robert Moore – Retired Historian from the National Park Service, "Courage and Cannonballs: A New Look at the Military Aspects of the Battle of Fort San Carlos."

Robert Mueller - Independent Researcher and Historian from Ste. Genevieve,

"Jacques Guibourd and his Family."

Conference starts with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., and lunch is provided. A reception for conference attendees will be held on from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. This event is sponsored by the Foundation for Restoration of Ste Genevieve.
