A book signing and presentation of the Union County Historical and Genealogy Society’s latest research project, “Blooms by the Bushel,” is scheduled for Sunday, July 11 at the Union County Museum in Cobden, IL. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a brief presentation and discussion about the growing of daffodils and other flowers at 2:30 p.m. Twenty-three growers from throughout the county, including three current ones, are featured in the 55 page booklet. The spiral bound, soft cover booklet features both historical and contemporary photos. The cover, original artwork by Paulette Aronson of Cobden, is available in the form of post cards, notecards, and prints for framing. A mini “Can” Dillow exhibit is opening the same day. Dillow and her husband, Russell, of Dongola were among the major daffodil growers. All proceeds benefit the Union County Museum.The public is invited. Admission is free and a reception will follow.
