Past: Project Hope

The Osage Centre

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO-- On Friday, October 1st, 2021, the Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri will partner with local businesses and healthcare providers to deliver Project Hope. The event, which will be held at the Osage Center from 10 AM to 3 PM, offers a variety of critical services. Attendees will be able to receive medical care, as well as specialized examinations such as breast, eye, dental, and podiatry care. Free transportation will be provided through fixed bus routes courtesy of Cape Transit Authority (CTA). The event bills itself as “one day, one stop, one community,” and aims to fulfill basic needs for the most vulnerable community members. Says Dottie Gholson, Project Hope event coordinator and CPSEMO Community Health Coordinator, “Homeless or low-income families sometimes can’t even have a good day or feel good about themselves. That’s what we’re here for-- to help them have a good day for a change. We want them to be able to get the services they don’t normally get on an everyday basis and still be able to have their kids with them in the kidzone area. We want to make them feel good about themselves and know there are people that care about them. Together we rise.” In addition to medical and other critical services, Project Hope will provide food and childcare. For more information about attending, volunteering, or sponsoring, as well as a full list of services, call 573-651-3747 ext. 100.
