Memory loss can feel overwhelming, but comfort, support, and positive experiences can all be found outdoors. In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeast Missouri, the Cape Girardeau Nature Center invites those experiencing memory loss, their families and caregivers, and those at risk to join us for a beautiful morning canoeing on the water. This program will be a safe opportunity for participants spend time together outside, connect with memories past, and learn from the experts how time spent outdoors can help reduce memory loss symptoms and even help prevent their onset in those at risk. This program will take place at Perry County Lake, we’ll meet at the north boat ramp off of Hwy T. To register, please register only ONE person from your party per canoe you wish to reserve. Each canoe is capable of holding 2 adults and about 650lbs. You may bring a child as a third passenger. A welcome email will be sent about 2 weeks prior to the event with complete details, a map to the boat ramp, and a packing list.
