Title: Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Location: Centenary Methodist Church – Cape Girardeau, MO

Position Details: Part-Time Non-Exempt Position

Initially approximately 10 hours per week, including

Sundays with potential to increase to up to 24 hours per

week as ministry grows.

$18/hour - $20/hr based on experience

Job Summary:

Centenary Methodist Church is seeking a Children’s Ministry Coordinator to help children through fourth grade and their families grow in faith and experience the love of Jesus. Working with our Children’s Ministry Committee and church staff, this person will lead existing programs, develop new opportunities, and help children and families feel connected to the life of the church.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and support Sunday School, camps, Bible school, family events, and other age-appropriate programs.

• Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers who invest in the lives of children.

• Build relationships with children, parents, schools, and community organizations.

• Partner with the Children’s Ministry Committee to shape and carry out a welcoming, engaging ministry.

• Coordinate programs within the established budget and participate in staff meetings and church events.

Qualifications:

• Some college or bachelor’s is preferred

• Minimum of two years of related experience with children and family ministries

• Attend continuing education seminars to enhance the gifts given for ministry
