Topics will be on dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline, how to handle encounters with police, the rights of parents in public schools and more. Cape Girardeau Police Lt. Brad Smith will give a presentation about what people should expect when they are pulled over or have other interactions with the police. Parent Advocacy Council, for underrepresented children in Cape Girardeau schools, will convene for the first time. The event is free but you must register. Only 50 spaces are available.
