The Rhodes 101 Stops and Commerce Bank Theatre and Dance Second Stage Series at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus presents “Southeast Dance Project” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 24 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre.

For the fourth year, The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance’s productions will offer a unique look into the talents of the dance program and its students.

Featuring student choreography, this program will reveal the work of emerging artists and highlight the talent of the dancers. Student dance artists step into the spotlight to delight audiences with a variety of moods and styles.

“The creative capabilities of our student choreographers continue to impress, and audiences will enjoy witnessing the ideas and emotions that inspire them,” said Hilary Peterson, coordinator of dance and associate professor.

The program will also include choreography by Southeast alumna Jessica Carlson, who graduated from Southeast in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance.

While at Southeast, Jessica created numerous original works that were showcased in main stage concerts as well as at the American College Dance Association Central Region Festival. Since her graduation, Jessica has danced with Leverage Dance Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri, and is now the dance coordinator at the South County Family YMCA in St. Louis.

Face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Due to capacity limits, patrons are encouraged to reserve their seats early.
