Past: Catapult Hosting ‘Holiday Workshop’ Dec. 11

Catapult Creative House

The Catapult Press at Southeast Missouri State University’s Catapult Creative House is hosting a “Holiday Workshop” Dec. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon.

During this workshop, participants will create their own handprinted Christmas tree or menorah to celebrate the winter holidays. The trees and menorahs will be hand-cut by Southeast students and faculty. Workshop participants will get to employ vintage letterpress equipment and use stencils and ink in a process called pochoir to decorate their printed tree or menorah.

The workshop cost is $20 plus tax and includes all supplies necessary to create your own unique artwork that can be part of your holiday tradition for years to come. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult, and younger children will need close supervision around the equipment. Catapult accepts cash, credit and check.

Catapult Creative House is located at 612 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public.
