Past: Red House Heritage Day 2022

Red House Interpretive Center

Join us at the Red House Interpretive Center located at 128 S. Main St. in beautiful downtown Cape Girardeau, MO. and take a step back in time to experience Red House Heritage Day on May 21,2022. The festivities start at 9:00 a.m.! There will be tours, live music, exhibits, mule jumping and pioneer demonstrations throughout the day as well as many historic displays from spoon carving, rag rug twining, gypsy flower carving, basket weaving, flint knapping, a Native American Artifact Display, quill writing, beehive oven cooking, leather tooling, to black powder weapons and more including a blacksmithing demonstration you won't want to miss! The blacksmith will be creating a special treat for the kiddos, their very own small handmade horseshoe to take home with them! There will be refreshments available as well, Rufus Red Hots, Ken's Kettle Corn & bottled water will be available for purchase; you can also make your own brick tea for a donation to the Red House! This event is brought to you by the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department and the Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Foundation.
