This binding structure is perfect for creating unique sketchbooks and journals that artists and writers love because the book opens perfectly flat and features beautiful stitching along the spine. The binding can be made with straight stitches or by stitches that create a design.
In this class, participants will learn coptic stitch and long stitch processes. Hard book covers will be covered by hand with paper or cloth before paper signatures are stitched in place. Another option will be using suede leather as the cover.
Book boards, needles, some waxed threads, and suede leather will be supplied. Bring your decorative exterior and endpapers or fabrics and embellishments.
