Past: Email Basics

Cape Girardeau Public Library

Technology can feel overwhelming! But once you know the basics, what you can do, and what to look for, it becomes much more manageable. In this class, you'll be introduced to everything your email can do. You'll learn how to identify and use all the basic functions, such as writing emails, creating contact lists, saving emails to prevent loss, and attaching files to send to others. You'll also learn some neat tricks, like folders and labels, to really help your organization. Our class will primarily focus on Gmail, the most common free email provider. But the skills you learn can be applied to Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, ProtonMail, or any other email service you may use! There will be plenty of time for questions at the end if you have specific ones about the mail service you use.

Bringing your own device (laptop, cell phone, or tablet used for email) to class is highly recommended, but not required—laptops are available for in-class practice. You may also bring a notebook and a pen or pencil, if you prefer taking notes.

Registration for this class is required. Ages 18+
